“The historians recount that Alexander the Great became greatly depressed when one soldier came up to him and said: I congratulate you, great king! To which the ruler of the whole world answered: would you congratulate me with Homer’s resurrection; whouse book he placed in Darius’   most preciously adorned chest and there he kept it, reading permanently, even during battles”  (pg. 302)
