Comment | As it is known, the famous statue of Venus of Milos, or else Aphrodite of Milos, the Goddess of love and beauty (Sculptor – Alexandros of Antioch, 130- 100 B.C.) got damaged in obscure circumstances while being transported from the island of Milos, the place where it was discovered, to France. Namely, the hands of Venus of Milos disappeared without a trace, and thus, the statue is exhibited in Louvre Museum without arms. So, Murman Lebanidze alludes to this sad fact: “Let the disgusting executioner go at Venus of Milos with hammer in his hands […]” . Z. K.] |
